We sit, we stand, we lounge. But that flower friend on your desk is expected to stand upright day in and day out. Maker Matt Clark decided to change all that with his tilted blown-glass vessel. With a slightly flattened base, the vase's angled design provides one to three stems a different perspective on the world, allowing onlookers to take in the beauty of their blossoms head-on. Handmade in Oregon.

Matt began his glass education at San Francisco State Univ.in 1989. He furthered his experience and the Philchuck Glass School and the Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle. Working in both production glass shops and glass art studios has Matt to straddle the fence, being both a craftsperson and artist using molten glass for personal expression. "The Stubbie and Stackable drinking glasses came about because I wanted to come up a practical item that I could sell that also had a whimsical quality to it."
