Called a kokedama in Japan, the roots of each Staghorn fern are surrounded by a ball of dirt, then covered in moss and tied to keep it all together. The low-maintenance plants only require a weekly soaking, and are easily removed from the mount. DIY lovers can opt for the kit version of this living decoration to put together themselves.

New Jersey native Savannah Barkley moved to Rhode Island to attend the Rhode Island School of Design and never left. "I work heavily with live plant materials, pressed flowers, and vintage findings," she says. "I love that these materials are nuanced and always one of a kind. It keeps my process interesting to me." She has also found major inspiration in her bunny companion Sir Milky Quartz. "He has truly been the jumping-off for building the aesthetic around my brand"—pun almost certainly intended.
