Heart of Glass Earrings

"Glass blowing" only begins to cover the extent of Gillian Preston's work. Raised in Midland, Texas, Gillian went on to study drawing and earn a BFA in glass at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Now creating fine art and a line of glass wearables out of her Pittsburgh studio, she incorporates myriad modern technologies into her jewelry making process. "My business began using hand-blown glass exclusively, but has evolved to include any and all techniques to aid in the production of our jewelry," she explains. Using everything from waterjet cutting to 3-D printing, her experimentation pushes the boundaries of what glass art can be.
