If you’re even a little cocktail-curious, you’ve heard about bitters, the must-have flavor ingredient behind the world’s best-loved drinks. Now it’s time for you to learn the secrets of the tantalizing botanical potions in those snappy little bottles. Join pro bartender Tamu Curtis, for this live virtual class where she’ll demystify the world of bitters and teach you how to use them like a mixology maestro.
- Class starts with unboxing your custom bitters kit (see Comes with the class, below) as Tamu introduces you to the history and application of bitters.
- You’ll build an old-fashioned using bitters selected by Tamu and learn why they’re considered the spice rack of the bartending world.
- In the second half of class, you’ll have the freedom to chart your personal mixology map as you make your own custom rum daiquiris.
- Class wraps up with an open discussion where you can share with your classmates and ask questions that will inform and inspire your journey further into bitters mixology.
Class length: 60 minutes.

The Speakeasy, our
Better with Bitters Cocktail Experiment Kit includes sampler bottles of 12 different bitters (like honey lavender, grapefruit rosemary, and chocolate mole) and six small-batch cocktail syrups that will elevate your drinks to new heights of flavor.
Please note: Our expert mixology instructors create a bar vibe in their classes, with conversation that may include mild profanity and references to the fun of getting buzzed.
