You and your special someone have a zillion photos of each other, but none of them can compare to a hand-painted portrait that captures the true spirit of your love. Too bad you’re not artists…but wait, what if you were? Join professional art instructor Annie Monaghan for a romantic live virtual class where you’ll learn how to paint watercolor portraits of one another that you’ll cherish for a lifetime.
- Class will open with an intimate exercise of gazing into each other’s eyes for one full minute to connect deeply and dispel awkwardness—but don’t worry, a giggle or two is totally allowed. (If a long-distance partner is joining you virtually, you can do this exercise together using a separate device.)
- Working with a favorite photograph, each of you will create a graphic transfer outline that’s enhanced by your live study of one another’s features.
- No prior art experience is necessary—you’ll learn basic painting techniques and put them into practice right away as you color the outline, with Annie on hand to answer questions.
- Make it an unforgettable date night or anniversary celebration with champagne, chocolate, and candlelight (just be sure you have enough light to paint by!).
- You’ll probably complete your masterpieces during class, but we recommend leaving time afterward to brush in the finishing touches and linger in that romantic mood.
Class length: 90 minutes
