What Makes It Uncommon

Endless (Scarf) Love

Rich color combinations. Vibrant ikat patterns. Silky bamboo fibers. Luxurious, sophisticated—and handmade by Maya women in the highlands of Guatemala on traditional backstrap looms that haven't changed much in over 2000 years. Making these radiant wraps plays a large role in the success of their grassroots cooperative, which has grown from 15 to over 300 members. The "Scarf Project" helps them achieve financial security for their families while keeping their traditional handcrafts alive. (Our craving for one of these is also very much alive, thankyouverymuch.) Handmade in Guatemala.
