Product:
Collar Perfect Compact Travel and Touch-up Iron
Research:
I tend to do a lot of long weekend getaways throughout the year. But firstly before I go any further let me just state that I HATE ironing and tend to mostly pack clothes that don’t require any ironing. However, since I have not yet mastered the art of packing by rolling my clothes up some things still end up getting wrinkled while en route to my destination.
Additionally – I am a bit of a germaphobe, so the idea of using random irons in hotels and/or rented homes/condos for the weekend does not appeal to me AT ALL! I’ve been the victim a number of times to burnt blouses and the ever-so-hated stained clothes as a result of the rusty water coming out of the provided irons.
After watching the video on our product page for this compact iron I was eager to try it out since it can be used for much more than just the collar. The bonus here for me was that it doesn’t require the use of water. It was also like nothing I’ve personally seen before, so I was even more excited to get my hands on it.
Hypothesis:
I predict that the Collar Perfect-Compact Travel and Touch-up Iron will be added to my list of traveling must-haves!
Experiment:
When I picked up the item, I was pleased with how lightweight it was and how easily it would fit in my carry-on. I carefully read the instructions and watched the video on the item page a few more times.
I wanted to be sure that I knew everything about its functionality before using it on my own clothes. I mean after all, you know you bring your best threads when traveling out of the state or country – ha!
I planned a last minute weekend trip to Puerto Rico over Memorial Weekend with my boyfriend for our anniversary. On our first night there, I admittedly decided to use his shirt as a guinea pig because you still never know what can happen. (Shh, don’t tell him I said that!)
The instructions were easy to follow and I began ironing his top. It did take a bit longer than usual because of the size of the iron and the material of the shirt. You know, the kind where one side smooths out then the other side decides to be wrinkled again and vice versa.
Conclusion:
Although I felt that his shirt was only about 85% unwrinkled when I was done (darn material) the item was still a hit with us! I will be using this whenever I go away from now on. The next time I use it I will try different materials and see if the results are the same. I can’t wait to use it on my next traveling adventure!
