Research
A glass water bottle with a built in fruit infuser. What a brilliant idea! is the first thought that came across my mind. I’ve never heard about this product and finding out about it would make a change in my lifestyle. All of my life I’ve grown accustomed to drinking soda and juice, neglecting water which is necessary to keep our bodies properly hydrated. Breaking this bad habit by using the Flavor Infuser Water Bottle would help me transition from my lack of water intake.
Hypothesis
Infusing fruits into water on a daily basis will lead to a healthier lifestyle and water being an essential part of my life.
Experiment
With a variety of fruits I will mix and match them and properly infuse them into water creating a couple of different types of fruitful H2O. Below was my favorite concoction.
Watermelon Lemon Basil Water
Step 1: Finely slice lemons into 6-8 pieces
Step 2: Cut watermelons into small cubes (10-12 cubes)
Step 3: Chop 8 basil leaves in half
Step 4: Take the center piece of the infuser and add lemons, watermelons, and basil leaves together.
Step 5: Place the top onto the center piece.
Step 6: Fill the glass water bottle with water.
Step 7: Place the center piece inside of the glass bottle and place the main top on to seal the bottle.
Step 8: Let the infusion begin! Wait 30 minutes until you drink the water. Enjoy!
Conclusion
This infuser is definitely a hit. After experimenting with different fruits my outlook on drinking water has changed. Using this product created a fun experience. Researching the different fundamentals of fruits and water helped me in having a want to drink water. It’s simple, it’s easy and I am becoming a water-loving person.

Very well-written and straight to the point. A lot of us become so accustomed to drinking soda and fruit juice that we forget how essential water is. I’m glad that UncommonGoods has a product that encourages people to drink water while adding flavor and variety.
Great job Jess! You look gorg! 🙂
Please, please, please make this in a larger size!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These water bottles are brilliant! They make me drink almost double the water that I normally drink! I was a heavy drinker of water to begin with but this is great! it is making me just that much more healthy.
Are these Bottles BPA Free??? I question this as it is NOT stated….AND the fact that they are made in China makes me very wary about this important issue…..
Hi, Karen. Thanks for asking! Yes, all of our food and drink products are BPA free.

Is the infuser glass? I bought a similar product and the infuser was not glass and my lemons/ limes ruined the infuser.
Great question, Amy. The bottle is glass, the insert portion that holds the fruit is plastic, and the cap is stainless steel. Thanks for asking!
I love the idea of this, but my only concern is about the fruit.. is it a waste of fruit because all the flavor goes into the water?
Do you have to take the insert that holds all the fruit out to drink the water??
Great question, Sue! You don’t have to remove the fruit to drink.

Hey, would frozen fruit work with this water bottle?
What makes this better than just putting fruit into a water bottle? The product looks interesting, but is it worth the money?
Hi, Abby! The chamber in the middle allows the flavor of the fruit to infuse the water, without bits of fruit actually getting into it. It also allows you to drink the water without having to strain the fruit out, so you don’t risk swallowing any chunks.

Hi. Is the fruit just left in the insert, in the same form as you put it in? Or, do you do something to crush or otherwise breakdown the fruit?
Crushing or slicing the fruit will make the flavors seep out (and into the water) faster, but preparation isn’t required. Thanks for asking!

I live in a northern state where fresh fruit is not that flavorful, available or affordable during the winter months…would frozen fruit work?
Thanks for the frozen fruit questions! We’re sorry it took a little while to answer, we just wanted to double-check with the maker of this good to make sure frozen fruit was OK. They confirmed that you can put frozen fruit in the chamber and you don’t even have to thaw it first! The flavor will infuse the water as the fruit defrosts.

Can you eat the fruit after, or does the flavor all go into the water?
You can eat the fruit after, but it won’t be as flavorful as it would have been before the infusion, because many of the delicious flavors are transferred from the fruit to the water.

[…] neat idea that is meant to make water taste better by infusing it with favorite ingredients is the flavor infuser water […]
Is there some kind of protective sleeve for the bottle? I am having trouble finding one and am afraid I will drop and break the bottle.
Thanks for the question, Stephanie! Unfortunately, there isn’t a protective sleeve available for the bottle at this time. It is an interesting suggestion, though, so we’ll gladly pass it along to our merchandising team!

Does the top of the water bottles have a place to insert a straw?
Hi Nancy,
The bottle does not have a special opening for a straw. Instead, it has a cap that completely unscrews for easy drinking and cleaning.

FOR MY WATER I USE A CINNAMON STICK AND APPLE SLICES , VERY REFRESHING !!
Does the bottle come with recipe suggestions?
Great question, Alina! The Fruit Infuser Water Bottle does come with a booklet that contains recipes. Thanks for asking!

Not much flavor is transferred to water with simple soaking. And most of the flavor that IS transferred will be bitters. Put all the fruit you want in a bowl of water sitting in the fridge and try it yourself – for free. I’ve tried this. It’s a fact. Common sense will tell you that.
Hi, can you leave the fruit in the chamber and refill the bottle multiple times or do you take the fruit out after so long?
My Flavor Infuser Water Bottle did not come with recipes. Is there some place else I can get those recipes?
Thanks for the question, Gemma. Yes, you can refill the chamber a few times using the same fruit. Just keep in mind that each time you reuse the fruit it will become less flavorful, because much of the fruit juice is leaving the fruit and getting infused into your drink each time you add more water.
Thanks for letting us know, Pamela! We’re sorry that you didn’t receive the recipes with your order. I sent them to you at the email address you left with your comment.
I got this as a gift and did not get recipes. Could you send me the recipes?
What kind of drinking spout does this bottle have? Is it straw-like or more open like a plastic water bottle?
Thanks for your question, Beth. It doesn’t have a drinking spout, per se. When you unscrew the top, it’s like the top of a jar. You can drink the water right out of the bottle, or pour it into another drinking vessel.
I love the idea of this water bottle. However, I, too, wish there was some sort of protective cover for the glass bottle. I have 2 young kids with me all day and I definitely do not feel comfortable using a glass water bottle. Also, my biggest complaint is the cover. I don’t like that it’s completely unattached. As a result, I have to screw it on and off and on and off every single time I take a sip (again fearful my kids will knock it over and spill it). Which is a pain because it’s so difficult to screw on….it doesn’t catch easily and doesn’t go on evenly.
Thanks for that thoughtful feedback, Janna. Young kids do make everything a little more challenging! We’re passing your helpful comments on to our merchandising team because those are very good ideas!
I am just starting a detox diet,I have a refused bottle, but unfortunately ave no recipes.I don’t want to fail this detox diet due to boredom,so was wondering if you could possibly send me some recipes,as I want to put this bottle to good use.I am willing go pay if necessary, Thanking you in anticipation.
Hello, Patricia, thanks for writing.
Aside from what you see here in our Gift Lab, we don’t feel we should make recommendations for anyone’s diet. We are not detox experts and so we don’t know what a real detox recipe would need to include or exclude. But if you do a web search for “detox water infusion recipes” or something similar, we bet you’ll come up with a whole lot of super healthy ideas that will also taste good and not be boring!
Is it dishwasher safe? I am sure the bottle would be if it is glass but what about the infuser that is plastic?
Good question, Debby. The entire bottle is dishwasher safe, but if your dishwasher gets pretty hot, you may want to stick the plastic parts (the part that holds the fruit and the internal lid that screws onto that part) in the top rack.
